Ive had a mixed relationship with gourmet raw food. In fact, Ive only had it twice in the last two years! Once – to celebrate the end of North Bali and the winter before that when I had waaay too much in a sitting and then broke out in a fever for 10 days. But two years ago – that was a different story. You see, this was the time when Chippy and I ‘dated’, which basically boiled down to finding every excuse to hang out with each other late into the night whilst still being just friends. I still remember speeding on the scooter to Seeds of Life hoping they still have lasagna left. Dating a fellow raw food enthusiast in Ubud – man, that is the stuff dreams are made! 🔥I think Chippy’s monthly expenses must have tripled that month, but as they say true love has no price tag. Now, two years later while Chippy sits a Vipassana, my best friend @joanna_kulczynska visited my in Bali for just nine days. You can imagine the sort of crazy gymnastics I had to pull to fit everything I love about Bali into just 9 days. The result you can check out on YouTube now. This video is a degustatory experience, a total culinary trip – get a napkin, you’re gonna salivate! If that wasnt all – at the end of the vlog I do a ranking of my top 5 restaurants along with tips what to order in which. ( Curious to see if @seedsoflifebali is still the best restaurant in the world? ) Not only that – you get my personal theory why Ubud became the world’s biggest raw food bubble plus a very personal rant about how I feel on raw food as a primarily fruits-only muncher. In other words – everything I could tell you about Bali’s raw and vegan food summarized in one video. Uff!😅

Part 2 of 2 ✨ If only I could only explain what a difference the ten years made – at 29 I felt like I had the body of a 60 year old and was extremely miserable in my head. At 39 I feel light – both mentally and physically. I feel more alive than ever. At all times of the day I feel race ready – I can just get up and run, I have so much energy I can keep up with sporty 20 year olds on a 5h trail. A lot of it was mental – thro yoga I found the divine state of self-love, not just self-acceptance. Yes, it would have been ideal if I found self-acceptance for myself in the 83kg body. Im sorry to say that for me that just seemed like an impossible circus trick to pull – I hated myself too much back then. The mental and physical transformation had to happen simultaneously. But back to fruit. The first fruitarian I found on Youtube was Freelee who Im super grateful for to this day. I jumped on the fruit wagon, ate 30 bananas and exercised for 2hrs a day – I believed that if I copied her, one day I would wake up and look exactly like her. I felt amazing on fruit, looked years younger, but the excess weight wouldn’t budge. Even after 2 years fruitarian I was still on the verge of obese on the BMI scale weighing 12kg (27 lbs) more than I do now. If you followed me here on Insta back then – this is why you didn’t see a single pic of me – I was too embarrassed to be the world’s only fat fruitarian. It was more Fat Shortie than Fit Shortie. Real life was worse – how many times at the table I was ridiculed for eating so much sugar by stick-thin girlfriends on the paleo diet. Being overweight I felt helpless as a fruitarian ambassador, but I wasn’t going to quit just yet. So what was I doing wrong? SLEEP (and the sun exposure needed for sleep). The moment I moved to Bali and made a few lifestyle tweaks – all the extra weight melted off effortlessly in just 2 months! Who would have thought something as simple as sleep was the one thing I needed for weight loss? ✨ Intrigued? With a little tweaking, we were able to exchange the homestay’s complimentary unripe fruit platter for a decent glass of watermelon juice! ✨Many of you are asking where is Simon and why he isnt with me in Bali – Im making a video explaining what happened, stay tuned it will be up in a couple of days. If you dont wanna wait to find out and want to help us out a little bit, you can always join our insiders circle on Patreon where we share our plans ahead of time and share a lot more personal stuff, link in bio! Speaking of Patreon, big shoutout to @run_neon_tiger who had just become our first rockstar Patreon! 😎 Thank you Martin, your generosity helps us tremendously and is very much appreciated. 🙏Having had the pleasure of spending much time with Martin in North Bali, I could have already told you he is a rockstar, in fact he will be the start of any party! Always in a good mood and with a smile never leaving his face – he’s the first person Id take on any escapade! Let me just mention that after North Bali, Martin STAYED RAW and went on to become Las Vegas’ first raw vegan lawyer! Now his friends in court no longer recognize him and have started asking him what is he doing to look so good, so now, in the shadows of Las Vegas courtrooms, he is explaining the secrets of raw food to his fellow lawyer friends, how epic is that?! 🙌 . . . . . #rawvegan #rawfood #fruitarian #801010 #ubud #bali

Ive waited over two years for best friend @joanna_kulczynska to visit me in Bali and now my excitement has no ends. First off – its my fav place in the world – the ambience, the nature, the gentleness of the local folk, the stunning heritage and architecture – in my eyes it compares to no other place on Earth. Not last on this list was great food – yes great fruit as well but also raw restaurant food. You see, before I went fruity, Joanna was my life long dining companion, in Warsaw and on many holidays – this practice brutally cut short by my diet change. Its fair to say Joanna is a food connoisseur and I don’t know anyone who brings more life to a dinning out experience than she does. With Ubud’s being the world’s biggest bubble of raw vegan restaurants we could have a mutually satisfying dining experience for the first time in years. Lets add that in the time I had been in Asia, Joanna changed her entire family’s kitchen to plant based, her husband and son jumping on the veggie wagon too. In the concept store she runs @mysia3official she banned the use of plastic straws and now organizes vegan weekend events four times a year at the start of each season – Vegan Spring, Vegan Summer, you get the idea. Ive waited two years but it seems like she comes at the perfect time – she came to Ubud super excited for the raw and vegan restaurants and I was tickled pink with excitement of showing her my favorite raw food joints in town! It has been a blast – get ready for some serious gourmet raw food debauchery coming up! I didnt eat everything in the pictures you’ll see. I shared some, nibbled on some but then again there was so much of it that I enjoyed very much. Stay tuned to see just how much raw food magic Ubud has to offer.
